stripShow 1.6.1 released!

Hey everyone! I’ve just uploaded stripShow 1.6.1, which has a couple of bug fixes:

  • Fixed bug where initialization of storylines may take a while if timezone is not set under PHP 5.
  • Rewrote transcript code to be more tolerant of whitespace. In addition, equals sign is no longer required for non-character transcript tags.

If your transcripts were all messed up because of whitespace, this is the fix.

As always, the latest version of stripShow is available from the Download page.

Just wanted to say that I’m very excited about seeing this plugin! :D I was looking out for a plugin to manage a potential new comic strip on my site, but couldn’t find one for ages, and suddenly coming across this (actively developed) one for the later versions of WP is such an amazing feeling. Thanks!

/me runs off to talk to comic author.

Just out of interest – I’ve seen version 2.0 being made available on the WP download site for stripShow, but everytime I click on ‘Download’ the zip file is empty…

Yeah, this is pretty infuriating. It seems that once you put date into the WP Plugin Directory’s SVN system, it doesn’t forget about it. I put the files for 2.0 in there, thinking it wouldn’t show up until I tagged it for release, but lo and behold, it appeared in the dashboard. So I yanked everything, but it’s still showing up.

Rest assured, 2.0 is coming, but it’s still not ready for release yet.

@Brad: Thanks for the update! I’ll look forward to the release of 2.0 as I’m hoping (as mentioned) to launch a new section for my site with v2.0 which involves a dedicated comic, and would love to use the new version of SS! Still trying to work out how 1.6 works in detail :P

While I don't maintain stripShow for a living, I wouldn't say no to a little donation, if you think the plugin is worth it...
