While I don't maintain stripShow for a living, I wouldn't say no to a little donation, if you think the plugin is worth it...

Grrrr, angered at Comicpress, again. Hate how the features are so mucked up it wrecks my site every time I try to implement new. Ok, Stripshow community, convince me to switch. It won't be hard, just want some encouragement.

You should use whatever solution will work best for you. That is why my advice would be, run a local setup of your comic first with stripShow to make sure it will do what you want. There is really no sense in switching to something different from what you are using if it won't be better for you.
That said, here's a few reasons:
stripShow better utilizes WordPress, and properly attributes what should be plugin from theme. ComicPress does not. This has always been the thing I dislike most about ComicPress. Regardless of the many good qualities it may have, it isn't set up "properly."
Another point to consider, stripShow has basically all the same features as ComicPress, plus extras (AutoComic alone makes it worth considering strongly.)
Really, the only negative to stripShow as it stands right now, is it hasn't yet been updated to take advantage of some of WordPress 3′s new features (custom post types.) Having said that, I don't believe ComicPress has either so that is a point neither for or against either one of them.
In the end, like I said above, you have to do what is best for you and your site. Since you are already frustrated with ComicPress, I would recommend taking a few days to set up some local test environments of your site running the alternatives, stripShow, Webcomic, Manga+Press and see which one is working best for you.
stripShow is great, and I have no doubt it will be even better once a new version fully supporting the 3.x branch of WP comes out. As it stands now, I still feel, after taking some time to use all the alternatives I could find, that it holds up better and is simply more logically set up than the other solutions.
Best of luck to you, whatever you do!

Thanks for the advice. I worked for a few hours last night with Stripshow and a custom theme. Had trouble with the Autocomic inserting where I wanted it to go, but that may be due to the theme I was trying to implement it with as it appeared easily and correctly with Sandbox.
So far it's the Widget comic menu bar not appearing in the available widgets for various themes that I've tried out. The idea of finding/building a theme beyond the typical webcomic is what is attracting me to Stripshow. I'm not an advanced user of WP, so the many advanced options in and to come regarding posts, aren't a big deal to me but I could see where people would require that.
For my purposes, it's important for whatever comic handling software I use, that it plays nice with the add-ons that I want/need to implement.
Thanks,
Rod Salm

I haven't had any issues with plugins not working correctly with stripShow. Are you looking at any plugins in particular that worry you may not work together nicely?
