While I don't maintain stripShow for a living, I wouldn't say no to a little donation, if you think the plugin is worth it...

I have a vertical running coming that I think looks gross along the top of the page. Is it possible to have it show up in the body/article of the page instead of along the top?
I am using my own theme, not sandbox.
I have tried to guess the proper word to put in the "autocomic" section as follows:
Insert comic after element with (options: ID/class) _______
I can't seem to figure it out. Hopefully this is easy, and I'm just making it more complicated than it is! I've been tinkering with my website for hours and it's past my bed time. So, if it is a really dumb question I'm going to blame that! ^_~
thank you

I'm not overly familiar with using Autocomic to insert into some other theme, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Where exactly are you looking to place the comic? Could you provide a link to your site so it would be easier to see where you are talking about? I'm guessing it is a matter of changing around a (couple possibly) theme files to make it display in the correct area.
If you provide a bit more info, and a link to your site I might be able to narrow it down a bit, or tell you which theme files to look in.

Thank you for your help GreenGel. Here is my page info, I recently re-installed wordpress to get rid of any potential errors I made along the way! If it helps to tinker around inside either of these wordpress sites I created a guest admin (guest1, pass: guest1) so feel free to poke around if it helps. Thank you for your time. -bf
This is my intended theme, with stripShow activated but (i just realized…) it doesn't want to show my uploaded comic (but it shows if I swap back to sandbox/or twentyten):

This is an example of where I want the comic so sit within my intended theme:

This is a sample page showing how the comic sits on the page while using Sandbox:

Thanks for the links. I take it right now you are using autocomic to insert the comic via javascript? I currently changed a setting under autocomic using the login you gave me (I would recommend deleting login now, if it is working how you'd like.) What I did was, under the Autocomic General settings, changed the "Insert comic after element with:" section to "class" and then changed the class to "art-postcontent" which is the location in your theme where you want it to appear.
Does it seem to work correctly now? Give it a bit of testing and let me know if that solved the issue for you or not. If not, it may be more beneficial to try messing directly with the themes rather than using javascript. But if it's working now, that may be good enough.

Hi GreenGel, thank you for working with it! Yes, I do have 'insert comic using javascript' selected in the autocomic settings.
It is exactly where I want it to be!
I added some more test comics to the page. However, now when I try to click the navigation arrows back and forth I do not see the other comics, only blank post pages like this: http://www.hotyaoi.com/?p=39

Well, I don't want to speak to hastily, but I think I may have got it this time for real
So, it looks like I just wasn't paying attention to the AutoComic settings as well as I should have been. Under the settings where it says "On these pages (you can select more than one)" the only page that was set up to show the comic was one page, the Comic-strip (stripshow) page. Of course, you don't want it just on that page, you probably want it on the index, single and comic category pages, so I selected those pages instead and it seems to show up correctly. If you don't want it on all of those pages (not on the category page, or not on the index, or whatever) just get rid of those selections. At any rate, go through that setting area to finish things off.
Hope that works for you, let me know if it doesn't. And this time, if it does work, go ahead and delete that admin account

Woot! It works great now!
Here is a weird thing I just noticed: I'm having trouble putting widgets into the sidebars. The items I place in sidebar 2 magically jump to sidebar 1 after a few page refreshes and if I place anything in the autocomic sidebar it replaces the comic navigation buttons above the comic with the widget. *,* I can only assume the autocomic sidebar is affecting the whole widget system, I'm just not sure how! I wonder if it's just a bug, if reinstalling stripShow will help.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me out, I really appreciate it!

I don't think re-installing stripShow will do much for you honestly, but I can't say with any certainty. In relation to the AutoComic sidebar, I'm afraid I'm not sure on that. It could have to do with the fact that maybe AutoComic is supposed to use that navigation button area for the Autocomic sidebar? I'm not sure on that, but it is the impression I am getting from reading the documentation wiki (unless I am misunderstanding it, which is highly possible.)
http://stripshow.wikia.com/wik…../AutoComic
As far as the jumping from one sidebar to the other though, that is odd. I'd try setting up a copy of your site on your local machine (same files, same database) and see if it continues to happen there, and then start slowly changing things on your local machine to see if you can figure out what part is causing the issue. (That is, first try maybe disabling autocomic and see what happens, if it still happens then, you know it isn't autocomic so try disabling stripShow entirely, and so on.)
Sorry I can't be of more help on this last issue, perhaps Brad will be able to chime in with some other advice.

Thank you for all your help GreenGel! I just created a new topic with this new problem, in case it rings any bells for anyone combing over the forum. I'm doing what you recommended and tinkering around to see if I can figure it out – but I do know the widgets are fine when I turn off AutoComic. So strange!
