Hey man, i have a problem with the new update.

seems like i can upload and post comics as i usually do, but the navigationbar doesnt show.

i had a problem that you helped me with here:

http://stripshow.monkeylaw.org…..ow/page-2/

we fixed this by making a new css set for my template, could that be the problem?

OK, I'll need a little more information. You still at the same URL as before? I went to your site and I see that your comics category page no longer has the comic on it, did you take it down? But when I go to the individual comics like http://www.slightlyfucked.com/?p=2008, I see the comic and the "First Comic", "Previous Comic", etc. links. What's missing?

Ah, right… I'm still working on the documentation for AutoComic. Sorry about that.

Here's how you get it to show up: On your WP admin page, go to the stripShow Menu->AutoComic. Then you have to choose where the comic goes. On your theme, I'd put it below the "datesearch" class. (not ID)

Let me know what happens. It was your case that led me to create AutoComic in the first place, I'm very interested to see how it works in the wild.

hmm.. i changed the "Insert comic after element with" to Class, instead of Id, and i let the box with "header" just stay that way, and nothing changed.

i use the theme Blackball, and i have all the boxes checked as they were default

OK, good start, but the class you want it inserted after isn't called "header" on your theme, it's called "datesearch".

Oh, and it occurs to me that at present, AutoComic sticks the comic onto the index page and the single post pages… I had forgotten, but you wanted it only on the category page for category 18. Isn't that right?

Currently, AutoComic can't do that, but it's something I'm working on.

ahh.. well thanks..

btw, i tried it out, and it seems like the comic appears 2 times after eachother, once before the navigation buttons, and once after.. and the old "buttons", still appears under the 2nd comic.

besides from that, it looks cool, cant wait for it to work for me too Cool

one more thing, when you are working on it, i saw that the preview of the navigationbuttons has this random button.. can you make that work for me too?

I've uploaded a new beta, 2.5b2, which adds a couple of features. First, it allows you to enable that Random Comic link. Second, it lets you choose which pages have the comics inserted. In your case, I'd choose "Single Post" and "Comic Category", but you can choose any Pages you've created as well.

Ok so this is what i have done.

-enable autocomic

-insert comic after element with class datesearch

-On these pages (index) (this cant be changed,?)

-enabled the buttons that i would like

the settings hasnt changed, so i let them be as it has been.

-relinked the folders to what the plugin said

-comics category slightly damaged

-non comics category test category

-category mode single category

-index page goes to last comic

-thumbnails fixed 50%

and at the options at the bottom i have checked every one exept -show thumbnails in feeds

i still dont get the new buttons to work

Hmm… maybe it's time for a temporary ID on your server so I can poke around? Let me know in private message if that's cool.

Oh, and I now see what you mean by the index page not being changeable, that's a big D'OH for me. I don't know why but outside of my own system, that selection box is only one line high! Damn. The pages are all listed, but the box is too small to show them. Sorry about that. If you're careful, you can select the third option, which is "Comic category."

OK, that seems to only happen when I'm using your theme and if I reload the page, it's fine. Maybe it wasn't what you were talking about?

Oh, I think I see what the problem is. On the new beta, I didn't enable "Insert using JavaScript" by default. That should be checked.

Basically, the idea is, AutoComic can actually insert code into your theme if you use certain templates, like Thematic or K2. For all other themes, it uses JavaScript.

well it works 50%

the problem now is that when i use the buttons, it goes to that comic strip, but the buttons dissapear, and the regular links are back.

Ah, yes. That's easy. I fixed it by removing the custom code we'd put into the single.php file, and adding "Single Post Page" to the pages that AutoComic affects. Now it works.

amazing!

thank you again! so much.

you get another 5 star review from me Wink (even though that seems a little weak compared to what you have done for me)

While I don't maintain stripShow for a living, I wouldn't say no to a little donation, if you think the plugin is worth it...
