While I don't maintain stripShow for a living, I wouldn't say no to a little donation, if you think the plugin is worth it...

I would like to have two folders: one for upcoming/preloaded comics and one for displayed comics. Is there a way to make stripshow rename a comic from one folder to another?
(I have readers who would read ahead by changing the date in an image file.)

Although stripShow doesn't include this feature, version 2.0 will have a feature whereby you can obscure the path to the comic files so people can't read ahead. It took me a while to figure out how to do it cleanly, but I got it done. 2.0 will be out soon.

Your plugin manager is full of shit. I apologize to anyone who sees stripShow 2.0 there, because it is NOT ready. However, if you PM me, I can send you a beta.

BTW, all that remains for me to do is the documentation, so if anyone else wants a beta, I can make them available.
